‘sweet tooth’

For Millennials, it’s called ‘Early Onset Nostalgia’ because we’ve become nostalgia prone at an earlier-than-usual stage in life. Nostalgia marketing aims to satisfy millennials’ yearnings for the now seemingly “joyful” and “simpler” moments of our past. I see it in EVERYTHING now, including my love for the Netflix series, ‘Sweet Tooth.’

I became so invested in the show, not having read the original comics and found myself in a Reddit thread where someone questioned who this show is meant for. To some, it has a confusing mix of adult violence/gore (albeit much tamer and lighter than its comic series counterpart) and youthful, kid-engaging content. A couple days later, I stumbled upon articles discussing ‘Early Onset Millennial Nostalgia’ and suddenly, the tone and approach behind ‘Sweet Tooth’ makes perfect sense.
